This introductory course explores the foundations and real-world applications of artificial intelligence (AI), beginning with an overview of the history and evolution of AI technologies. Students will gain hands-on experience with current AI tools, including mastering the essential skill of prompt engineering to effectively interact with and get the best results from systems like chatbots and recommendation engines. We will examine how AI is transforming diverse fields such as business, education, and healthcare. The curriculum provides a critical understanding of ethical concerns in AI, including bias, fairness, privacy, and the societal impact of intelligent systems. No prior programming experience is required.
Intermediate computing skills, including file management and common computing skills: cut, copy, paste, open/save files, and web search.
