This course introduces ornamental trees, shrubs, and herbaceous plants commonly used in landscape designs in Hawaiʻi. Students will learn to identify species by botanical and common names, understand growth habits and environmental preferences, and uses for plants. Field trips are integral for the observation of plants in varied settings.
