STEM research class with the student engaged in independent research in topic areas related to bio-resources development and management. May be repeated up to 6 credits. (3 hours cooperative education/work (COOP) experience per week per credit)
Recommended Preparation
Completion of a biological or environmental science class as stipulated by the instructor.
Prerequisites
Instructor consent.
Course Outcomes
- Identify a research question and develop a hypothesis regarding a topic in bio-resources development and management.
- Use research and technology skills to access relevant information from multiple sources.
- Design and implement a plan to test the hypothesis
- Collect, analyze, and interpret data generated by the selected research project.
- Communicate results, analyses, and conclusions in written and/or oral form.
